WHAT IS SCIO
The Social Communitary Initiative was born in 1995 after an experience of two years working in refugee camps with the intention of looking for an alternative to the intervention of most of humanitarian agencies that aren't worried for the effects of war in the social abilities of people that are refugees.

Our philosophy is based in integrating in the culture and the community where we are working. We only act motivating and supporting people for recovering their capacity to creating social structures and to integrate, as refugee and when they will come to safe places after the war.

In our projects the voluntary action is very important, even if we try to combine it with specific preparation. People managing our projects has always experience of many months living and working in Bosnian refugee's camps, and they know enough the Bosnian culture and language.
